  • Traceability

Traceability is the property of a measured result or value of a standard, whereby it can be related to stated references, usually national or international standards, through an unbroken chain of comparisons and all having stated uncertainties.

  • Volt

The electrical potential difference between two points in a circuit. One volt (V) is the potential difference required to move one coulomb of charge between two points in a circuit, while using one joule of energy.

  • Voltage

An electrical potential which can be measured in volts.

  • WOU

    Window Of Uncertainty
A measured value is within the “Window of Uncertainty” (is indeterminate) where the addition of the estimated uncertainty (either the positive or negative component) to the Applied Value or Measured Value would yield a sum exceeding the specification limits.

  • Zero Offset

The difference between true zero and an indication given by a measuring instrument.
